Budget Place to Stay



MATUMAU  LODGE


It's located 50 meter away from Mulu airport.  They charged reasonable price for accomodation and food.  Although it is not well known Matumau is creatively furnish with all the essential needs.  The food serve here is cheap and very generous portions. Room is spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable. The lodge provides bikes to use to get to National Park.


2.  BERNARAT LODGE/INN


Another alternative accomodation.  It has more rooms.  Affortable room rates.

4.  Gunung Mulu Headquater
It is a nice place to stay and not very far from Royal Mulu.   Royal Mulu is just across the river.  Has deluxe long house rooms.


5.  Mulu Rivers Lodge


There is no specific months classified as peak travelling period.  Do not worry about accomodation.  There are a lot more places to stay there.

Royal Mulu Resort is the popular hotel there. Strategically located the rates is higher compare to the rest.  It offer more facilities and can accomodate a large group.

Mulu - Sarawak Climate / Weather

Sarawak has an equatorial climate. The Equator cross a town in Kalimantan. The weather is generally dry and warm. The temperature is within the range of 23°C to 32°C throughout the year. Humidity is very high on the lowlands ranging from 85 per cent to 95 per cent per annum. The average rainfall per year is between 3,300 mm and 4,600 mm.

The wettest months are from November to February.  So if you plan to travel during this period get your umbrella ready.  From March to September weather is expected to be warmer and less rain.  However, at night the temperature can be very low due to latitude and rain forest.

Caving
Mulu is of the largest limestones caves in the World.  It is also one of the World Heritage.
IMPORTANT NOTICES : Visitors are not permitted to enter any of the caves within the Park without a Licensed Park Guide.

Daily tours are available and can be arrange at Mulu World Heritage Guides.  Guided tour will bring you to all the four show caves in the Park.
Reservations for the show caves are not essential.  You could call the Park office to enquire about the fees.
